Each of the 37 companies received $750,000 via a post-money SAFE—a significant increase from the $500K offered in earlier batches. Selected from over 4,000 applicants, the cohort maintained Speedrun's sub-1% acceptance rate. The batch focused on tech-meets-games themes including live operations tools, AI agents, 3D retopology, cozy games, and gamified consumer applications. SR003 marked Speedrun's maturation as a program: the investment amount increased 50%, the LA location attracted entertainment-adjacent founders, and the cohort reflected the growing convergence of AI and interactive media. Companies in the batch benefited from access to a16z's Games Fund, extensive vendor credits, and the program's growing alumni network.
