Flux Marine

Flux Marine is a Bristol, Rhode Island-based company that designs and manufactures electric outboard motors as direct alternatives to traditional gasoline and diesel marine engines. The manufacturer builds a complete vertical technology stack, operating out of a 40,000-square-foot facility to produce 14-, 40-, and 70-horsepower electric motors with capabilities reaching up to 150 horsepower. Rather than constructing its own vessels, the enterprise supplies its proprietary battery packs, power electronics, and propulsion systems directly to recreational boating customers and partners with existing boat builders. Backed by early seed funding from Princeton University, the hardware developer has raised more than $30 million in total venture capital to scale its manufacturing operations and ramp up commercial deliveries following its official launch in 2023. Flux Marine was founded in 2018 by Ben Sorkin, Daylin Frantin, and Jonathan Lord.
