GLP Capital Partners is a global alternative asset manager based in Santa Monica, California, focused on thematic investing in real assets and private equity. Established in 2011 by co-founders Ming Z. Mei and Jeffrey Howard Schwartz, the firm originally served as the exclusive investment manager for its parent company GLP and partnered with major institutional backers like sovereign wealth fund GIC. The organization manages 66 funds and oversees approximately $122 billion in assets under management, which includes $111 billion dedicated to logistics, digital infrastructure, and renewable energy. Operating with a workforce of around 550 employees, the firm serves institutional investors across the United States, Europe, Brazil, and Asia. Alternative investment firm Ares Management recently announced an agreement to acquire the international business of the company for $3.7 billion, a transaction expected to close between January and June 2025.
