Johnson & Johnson is a global leader in medical products, consumer healthcare, and pharmaceuticals, based in New Brunswick, New Jersey, United States. The company was founded to mass-produce sterile surgical supplies and dressings, pioneering antiseptic healthcare products such as Band-Aids and Tylenol. Starting with 14 employees in 1886 and growing to 400 by 1894, it now employs over 130,000 people across 60 countries. Key figures in its development include early scientific director Frederick B. Kilmer and later president Robert Wood Johnson II, who drove significant expansion. Edward Mead Johnson, one of the co-founders, later departed to establish a separate nutrition company. Johnson & Johnson was founded in 1886 by brothers Robert Wood Johnson I, James Wood Johnson, and Edward Mead Johnson.
