Linum builds state-of-the-art text-to-video diffusion models.
Over the next ten years, we’re going to witness a shift in animation, tv, and film similar to what we’ve seen with YouTube - where most content will be generated by everyday people. At Linum, we’re using AI to build the tools that will enable this transition.
Linum was founded by Sahil Chopra and Manu Chopra - two brothers with 10 years of AI experience. Sahil co-wrote Stanford’s graduate-course on LLMs (Large Language Models). Manu trained RL (Reinforcement Learning) models for anesthesia administration at UCSF.

Key people at Linum.
Linum is an AI-driven startup focused on revolutionizing visual storytelling by enabling users to create high-quality animations and videos directly from descriptive text inputs. Their core product is a state-of-the-art text-to-video diffusion model that democratizes animation production, allowing creators without expensive software or hardware to generate "Pixar-quality" animations on accessible devices. Linum primarily serves aspiring storytellers, filmmakers, and content creators who face barriers in traditional animation production, solving the problem of high cost and technical complexity. The company is gaining momentum by leveraging advanced AI and cloud computing to scale video generation efficiently, positioning itself at the forefront of a major shift in how animation, TV, and film content is created and consumed[1][2].
Founded in 2022 by brothers Sahil and Manu Chopra, Linum emerged from their firsthand experience in Hollywood, where they observed talented writers and artists struggling to fund and produce their projects. Both founders bring deep AI expertise: Sahil co-wrote Stanford’s graduate course on large language models (LLMs), and Manu has experience training reinforcement learning models in medical contexts. Their combined background in AI and product management inspired them to build a platform that lowers the barriers to animation creation through AI-powered text-to-video technology. Early traction includes acceptance into Y Combinator’s Winter 2023 batch and collaboration with Microsoft Azure to leverage cloud GPU scalability, enabling rapid model training and deployment[1][2].
Linum is riding the wave of AI democratization in creative industries, particularly the growing trend of generative AI transforming content creation. The timing is critical as advances in diffusion models, cloud computing, and AI infrastructure converge to make video generation from text feasible at scale. This shift parallels the disruption seen in platforms like YouTube, where content creation became accessible to the masses. Linum’s technology could significantly lower entry barriers in animation and film production, potentially reshaping entertainment, advertising, and education sectors by empowering everyday users to produce rich visual narratives[1][2].
Looking ahead, Linum is poised to expand its platform capabilities and user base, potentially integrating more sophisticated AI models and real-time video generation features. Trends such as increasing demand for personalized and on-demand video content, combined with ongoing improvements in AI efficiency and cloud infrastructure, will likely accelerate Linum’s growth. Their influence may evolve from a niche AI startup to a foundational tool in the creative ecosystem, enabling a new generation of storytellers and transforming traditional media production paradigms[1][2].
