Alek Petuskey is the co-founder of Reflex, an open-source Python web framework and developer toolset, based in San Francisco, California. Prior to launching the startup, he worked as a software engineer at Apple and Replit, focusing on infrastructure and software development. Petuskey participated in the Y Combinator Winter 2023 batch with Reflex, originally known as Pynecone, before rebranding the platform later that year. Under his leadership, the company secured a $5 million seed round in 2023, followed by a $16.5 million Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz in November 2024. The open-source project has since accumulated tens of thousands of repository stars and reached over 100,000 users by early 2025. His current focus remains on expanding developer tools to enhance coding efficiency and advancing AI-powered infrastructure for full-stack software engineering.
