She brings over 20 years of scientific research experience to her entrepreneurial role, specializing in developmental biology, stem cell biology, and advanced tissue engineering. At Trestle Biotherapeutics, Chen directs the creation of stem cell-derived kidney tissues engineered to address the medical needs of patients with Chronic Kidney Disease. Her scientific methodology bridges foundational stem cell research with biofabrication techniques to manufacture functional therapeutic tissues capable of supporting organ function. Before establishing her current startup, she spent two decades building deep domain expertise across the intersections of biotechnology and regenerative medicine.
