Andy Chen is the cofounder and CTO of Nira Energy, a climate tech software startup based in the Rockaways, New York. Founded in 2021 and backed by Y Combinator as part of its W22 batch, the profitable 20-person company develops a software platform that helps renewable energy developers optimize land and grid interconnection costs. Before launching Nira Energy alongside renewable energy industry veteran Chris Ariante, Chen spent three years at Palantir. During his tenure there, he worked as a software engineer for two years before transitioning into a product manager role for an additional year. He previously earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Brown University. His current focus centers on leveraging his software engineering and product management expertise to accelerate solar and wind energy development within the climate tech sector.
