AyJay Lasater

AyJay Lasater is the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Albedo, a commercial space technology company based in Denver, Colorado. Before establishing the startup in November 2020, he spent nearly eight years at Lockheed Martin, serving as a System Architect who managed complex government satellite constellations from initial concept through on-orbit operations. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and a Master of Science in Mechatronics from the University of Denver. At Albedo, an alumnus of Y Combinator, Lasater recently helped secure a $35 million Series B funding round in January 2024 to accelerate aerospace hardware development and deployment. His current technical focus centers on engineering very low Earth orbit satellites, preparing for the early 2025 launch of the company's first high-resolution visible and thermal imaging spacecraft, known as Clarity.
