Beth Kolko is a Professor of Human Centered Design and Engineering at the University of Washington, a Senior Venture Partner at Pioneer Fund, and a Founding Venture Partner at Pack Ventures based in Seattle, Washington. She previously served as the Founder and CEO of Shift Labs, a Y Combinator-backed medical device company that raised $1.7 million and developed the DripAssist infusion monitor before being acquired. Earlier in her career, she was a Visiting Faculty member at Microsoft Research and spent twelve years as a Fellow and Faculty Associate at Harvard University's Berkman Center. She holds a doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin and began her academic career researching internet adoption in emerging markets. Her current work centers on bridging university research with commercialization through early-stage venture capital and advancing human-centered design in global health technology.
