Bill Clerico

Bill Clerico is the Founder and Managing Partner of Convective Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He previously co-founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer of WePay, a fintech startup he guided through Y Combinator and led for twelve years until its $400 million acquisition by JPMorgan Chase in 2017. Following the acquisition, Clerico managed the small and medium-sized business payments division at JPMorgan Chase and directed strategic investments in companies including Toast, Touchbistro, and Freshbooks. In 2022, he launched Convective Capital with a $35 million inaugural fund to back startups developing technologies for wildfire prevention, suppression, and adaptation. Today, his primary focus is writing $500,000 to $1 million checks for pre-seed through Series B climate tech companies dedicated to mitigating global wildfire impacts.
