Brad Murray

Brad Murray is the Chief Technology Officer at Beeper, a universal chat application acquired by Automattic, and is based in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. With more than sixteen years of software engineering experience, he oversees the technical strategy for the unified messaging platform, which was purchased for approximately $125 million in April 2024. Prior to co-founding Beeper, Murray held engineering leadership positions at the multi-billion dollar B2B retail marketplace Faire. He previously developed bootloaders, operating system components, and software development kits as an engineer for wearable technology companies Fitbit and Pebble. At Beeper, he directed the technical launch of Beeper Mini in late 2023 and scaled the engineering team to achieve a six-fold reduction in platform issues. His career focuses on building reliable infrastructure, embedded systems, and scalable product engineering for high-growth consumer technology startups.
