Burak YILMAZ

Burak Yilmaz is the Co-founder, President, and Lead Designer at Kernal Biologics, a biotechnology firm based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Prior to his current executive role, he founded Sentegen and Sentebiolab, where he directed operations focused on manufacturing synthetic DNA for various commercial research and diagnostic applications. At Kernal Biologics, which he established in 2019 alongside co-founders Yusuf Erkul and Cafer Ozdemir, Yilmaz serves as the primary co-inventor of a proprietary stealth and onco-selective mRNA platform designed specifically for advanced cancer treatments. Under his technical leadership, the enterprise successfully secured a $25 million Series A funding round in 2022, attracting capital from institutional investors including FoundersX Ventures. Holding a Master of Science degree, Yilmaz currently focuses his background as a two-time synthetic biology entrepreneur on developing next-generation mRNA therapeutics for oncology and other severe diseases.
