Chris Zacharias

Chris Zacharias is the Founder and CEO of Imgix, a visual media processing platform based in San Francisco, California. Prior to establishing the company in 2010, he served as a Senior Web Developer at YouTube from 2007 to 2011. As the second full-time hire there, he engineered core infrastructure including the platform's initial HTML5 video player and file uploader. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and New Media from the Rochester Institute of Technology and previously worked as a software engineer at Xerox. Zacharias launched Imgix through the Y Combinator Summer 2011 batch, securing early seed funding to build a global network that now processes billions of images daily. His current focus remains on advancing visual media processing, web performance optimization, and artificial intelligence visual content transformation for enterprise clients.
