Chrisjan Wust

Chrisjan Wust is the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Sphinx, an artificial intelligence compliance platform for financial institutions, based in San Francisco, California. The enterprise software startup, which currently operates with approximately seven employees, is backed by the Y Combinator accelerator program as part of its Fall 2024 batch. Previously, Wust served as the first employee and Head of Engineering at RelyComply, where he built scalable machine learning systems and helped drive the company from zero to $12 million in annual recurring revenue. During his tenure, he secured a major enterprise contract with Africa's largest bank before co-founding and successfully exiting Adorno AI, a startup focused on generative video to audio models. Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, his career focuses on engineering leadership, generative artificial intelligence, and developing scalable enterprise fintech compliance infrastructure.
