David Ulevitch is a General Partner at Andreessen Horowitz based in New York, New York. Before transitioning to venture capital in 2018, he founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer of OpenDNS, a cloud security firm that Cisco acquired for $635 million in 2015. Following this acquisition, he operated as the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Cisco Security, overseeing a global business unit that generated $2.4 billion in annual revenue. Earlier in his career, he established the domain management startup EveryDNS, which was acquired by Dyn in 2010, while earning a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Washington University in St. Louis. He currently leads the American Dynamism practice at Andreessen Horowitz, focusing his board service and investments on national security, aerospace, and enterprise software companies such as Anduril, Substack, and Deel.
