Dennis Beatty

Dennis Beatty is the founder and chief executive officer of Surge, a developer-focused SMS API platform designed to simplify text message integrations. The startup recently participated in the Fall 2024 batch of Y Combinator and secured early-stage seed funding through Sequoia Capital. Prior to launching his current venture, he served as a principal engineer overseeing complex payment systems and infrastructure at Entrata. Earlier in his career, Beatty was an early engineer and technical lead at Podium, where he managed the core messaging platform using microservices and cloud-native technologies. During his tenure at Podium, he specifically directed engineering efforts for a new SMS payments product that rapidly scaled to achieve a $2 billion run rate by its second year. His professional focus remains on developing scalable telecommunications infrastructure, distributed systems, and financial technology solutions for high-growth B2B enterprise software companies.
