Dimitris Fotis Sakellariou

Dimitris Fotis Sakellariou is the Founder and CEO of Piramidal, a neural engineering startup backed by Y Combinator and based in San Francisco, California. Previously, he served as a Senior AI Engineer and Deep Learning Lead at IQVIA in London, where he developed an in-house multimodal learning library for patient history data and deployed production artificial intelligence solutions for pharmaceutical clients. His clinical and academic background spans 12 years of EEG research, including over four years working in research hospitals to conduct long-term recordings and assist epileptologists during brain surgeries. Sakellariou holds a joint PhD in Computational Neuroscience from King's College London and the University of Patras, with degrees in computer science, physics, and electrical engineering. His current focus centers on leveraging applied machine learning and digital signal processing to map neural syntax and build scalable cognitive security technologies.
