Egal Lazarev

Egal Lazarev is the Co-Founder and CTO of Diversion, a developer infrastructure startup based in San Francisco, California. Founded in 2021 alongside Sasha Medvedovsky, the 14-employee company participated in the Y Combinator Summer 2022 batch and secured early investment from Konvoy VC. Prior to this role, Lazarev accumulated over 20 years of software engineering experience, which included bootstrapping and successfully exiting two technology startups, Leprechaun in 2012 and Adience in 2015. He previously served as an officer in Unit 8200 and Unit 81 of the Israeli Intelligence Corps, where he developed low-level Unix drivers and communication protocols. Additionally, he holds a BSc, MSc, and MBA from Tel Aviv University, graduating cum laude. Lazarev's current focus centers on building scalable, cloud-native code version management systems as an alternative to Git and Perforce for B2B engineering teams.
