Eric Migicovsky is the Head of Messaging at Automattic and Co-founder of Beeper, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He previously founded and served as CEO of Pebble Technology from 2008 to 2016, where he pioneered the smartwatch industry by selling over two million devices and raising more than $20 million across three record-breaking Kickstarter campaigns. Following Pebble's acquisition by Fitbit, Migicovsky joined Y Combinator as a Partner, advising over 500 early-stage startups between 2017 and 2021. He then co-founded the universal chat application Beeper, which Automattic acquired for a reported $125 million in April 2024. Prior to his entrepreneurial ventures, he earned a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo. His professional background centers on developing consumer hardware, advancing messaging software interoperability, and scaling early-stage technology ventures.
