Fernando Albertorio is the Founder of Vacca Technologies, an early-stage innovation strategy and business consulting firm based in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Previously, he served as Co-Founder and CEO of Sunu, where he developed a sonar-enabled smartband for visually impaired individuals and guided the accessibility technology company through the Y Combinator Summer 2017 batch. His technical background includes over fifteen years of experience developing sensors and adaptive technologies, supported by more than $1.5 million in secured research funding. Albertorio began his professional career developing laboratory management expertise at the National Institutes of Health before completing graduate studies in chemistry and post-graduate work in physics at Harvard University. As a serial entrepreneur and MassChallenge alumnus, his current focus centers on advising product developers and small businesses operating at the intersection of artificial intelligence, computer vision, and hardware.
