Fred Luddy

Fred Luddy is the Founder and former Chairman of the Board at ServiceNow, based in San Diego, California. Before establishing the enterprise cloud computing company in 2004, he served as Chief Technology Officer at Peregrine Systems and worked as a software developer at Amdahl Corporation. Under his leadership, ServiceNow pioneered modern IT service management and completed its initial public offering in 2012, eventually reaching a market capitalization exceeding $100 billion. In June 2023, he transitioned out of his role as Chairman, passing the position to current Chief Executive Officer Bill McDermott. Beyond his corporate endeavors, he is a major philanthropic benefactor, notably donating $60 million to Indiana University to establish the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering. His career focuses on advancing enterprise workflow automation, scaling software-as-a-service platforms, and supporting higher education technology initiatives.
