George Mathew

George Mathew is the Chief Architect and Co-Founder of Nyckel, an artificial intelligence software startup based in New York, New York. Founded in 2021 and backed by Y Combinator as part of its Winter 2022 batch, the company maintains four to six employees and provides machine learning APIs for image and text classification. Prior to launching this venture, Mathew spent five years at Oracle Cloud, where he directed engineering teams developing enterprise-scale Functions-as-a-Service and Application Performance Management infrastructure. He previously served as an early engineer at CareEvolution, leading the technical development of one of the largest health information exchanges in the United States, after beginning his professional career at Microsoft. His current professional focus centers on leveraging his extensive background in distributed data systems to build scalable machine learning classification tools for high-performing engineering organizations.
