Harj Taggar

Harj Taggar is a Managing Partner at Y Combinator, based in San Francisco, California. He graduated from the University of Oxford in 2006 with a degree in Jurisprudence before co-founding Auctomatic as part of the YC Winter 2007 batch, a platform for managing online marketplace listings that was acquired by Live Current Media in 2008. In 2010, Taggar became the first non-founder partner at Y Combinator, serving until 2014 when he left to co-found Triplebyte, a technical hiring platform designed to assess software engineering talent regardless of educational background. Triplebyte raised over $10 million in Series A funding led by Initialized Capital and was later acquired by Karat. Taggar rejoined Y Combinator as a Group Partner in 2020 and was subsequently elevated to Managing Partner. His current investment focus centers on developer tools, enterprise software, and platforms that improve how companies identify and hire technical talent.
