Hugo Fry

Hugo Fry is a UK-based artificial intelligence researcher and founder currently developing interpretable radiology report generation AI. He previously earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and a Master of Science in Physics from the University of Cambridge, where he ranked in the top 30 students. Before his university studies, Fry competed in the British Physics Olympiad, placing among the top 11 participants in the United Kingdom. He later served as a Machine Learning Interpretability Research Scholar at MATS, where he became the first researcher to apply sparse autoencoders to vision models. This pioneering interpretability research has since been cited by major artificial intelligence organizations, including Anthropic and Google DeepMind. His current entrepreneurial work focuses on bridging advanced machine learning safety techniques with practical medical applications to deploy reliable diagnostic software tools for the healthcare sector.
