Jack Light is the San Francisco based co-founder of Planbase, an artificial intelligence platform launched in 2024 alongside Joe Shearman to modernize healthcare workforce management and administrative operations. Backed by a recent funding round of over two million dollars from Y Combinator and LocalGlobe, the startup automates scheduling, credentialing, and payroll for medical clinics. Previously, he co-founded the technology company Elando, where he developed advanced forecasting and optimization algorithms that successfully managed schedules for one hundred thousand hourly workers. Under his leadership, this workforce technology scaled to serve over one thousand businesses, including major franchise locations for recognizable brands like Domino's and Popeyes. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Chicago, and he currently applies his deep academic expertise in labor economics to streamline patient demand forecasting, human resources, and clinical staffing.
