James Flynn is a Partner at Sequoia Capital, where he focuses on post-Series A and growth-stage technology investments. Prior to assuming his current role, he worked as a growth equity investor at General Atlantic, gaining insight into late-stage business evaluation, and completed his education at the Wharton School. In his current capacity, Flynn manages a portfolio that spans artificial intelligence, generative media, and brain-computer interfaces, backing prominent technology companies such as Anthropic, Neuralink, ElevenLabs, and Clay. His recent investment activity includes participating in the 2025 growth funding rounds for Neuralink and the generative media startup fal, as well as a 2026 growth investment in Anthropic. Today, Flynn leverages his dual experience in both early and late-stage venture capital to help founders scale emerging technology businesses across the artificial intelligence, financial services, and enterprise software sectors.
