James Hawkins

James Hawkins is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of PostHog, an open-source product analytics platform based in London, United Kingdom. Before transitioning into the technology sector, he competed as a professional cyclist for teams including Rapha Condor-Sharp. Following his athletic career, he developed domain expertise in enterprise sales and self-taught software engineering. Under his leadership, the Y Combinator graduate company has secured over $153 million in venture funding from investors such as Sequoia Capital and GV, reaching a valuation exceeding $1 billion in 2024. The platform currently serves more than 100,000 active users and recently expanded its enterprise offerings by acquiring the website analytics tool Marker.io in March 2025.
