James Tamplin

James Tamplin is an angel investor and board member at Charm Industrial and Shortwave, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He previously co-founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer of the software developer platform Firebase, leading the company until its 2014 acquisition by Google. Following the transaction, he worked as a Group Product Manager at Google before co-founding Covid Act Now in 2020, a public health data organization that provided tracking metrics to tens of millions of citizens and government officials. Tamplin currently holds board seats at Shortwave, an artificial intelligence email software startup, and Charm Industrial, a climate technology firm that secured a $100 million Series B funding round in 2023.
