Jason Gray

Jason Gray is the Founder and Managing General Partner of Pioneer Fund, a venture capital firm based in the San Francisco Bay Area. In this role, he leads early-stage investments by leveraging capital and operational expertise from a network of over 225 Y Combinator alumni. Before transitioning to venture capital, Gray co-founded SunFarmer, a solar energy startup that participated in the Y Combinator accelerator program in 2015. Previously, he served as General Manager and Vice President at SunEdison, where he established the company's Canadian division and scaled it to $250 million in annual revenue. During his tenure at the renewable energy corporation, he also managed over $500 million in corporate debt and equity financing. Gray's professional career combines extensive operational experience in the clean technology sector with a current focus on funding early-stage technology startups.
