Jerry Yang is the Founding Partner of AME Cloud Ventures and an Independent Director at Alibaba Group, based in Palo Alto, California. He previously co-founded Yahoo! in 1994 alongside David Filo, scaling the internet platform to over 300 million users and serving as Chief Executive Officer from 2007 to 2009. During his tenure, Yang orchestrated a $1 billion investment in Alibaba in 2005, securing a highly lucrative corporate venture deal. Through AME Cloud Ventures, he has managed over $1 billion in capital and backed more than 100 early-stage startups, including Zoom and Evernote. He holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, where he serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees. His current focus centers on venture investments in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and data-driven enterprise software.
