Job Van Der Voort

Job van der Voort is the CEO and Co-founder of Remote, operating from Lisbon, Portugal. Since establishing the company in 2019 alongside Marcelo Lebre, he has guided the global employment platform to a $3 billion valuation and secured over $500 million in funding from investors including Sequoia Capital and Accel. The software infrastructure currently functions as an employer of record to facilitate international payroll and compliance across more than 150 countries. Prior to this venture, he served as the VP of Product at GitLab, where he helped scale the fully distributed organization from five to over 450 employees across 67 nations. He initially began his professional career as a neuroscientist at the Champalimaud Foundation before transitioning into software engineering. His current focus centers on developing global payroll infrastructure and expanding compliance services for distributed workforces.
