Jon Xu

Jon Xu is a General Partner at Y Combinator based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. Before joining the accelerator, he co-founded and served as the Chief Technology Officer of FutureAdvisor, a pioneering robo-advisor that launched during the Y Combinator Summer 2010 batch. Following BlackRock's successful acquisition of FutureAdvisor in 2015, Xu transitioned to lead product and engineering for the global asset manager. In this executive capacity, he developed enterprise-grade robo-advisor platforms tailored for major financial institutions while managing complex software integrations. He holds a degree in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has conducted over 500 hours of office hours advising startup founders. His current focus centers on guiding early-stage technology companies, drawing upon his extensive background in fintech, wealth management, and building B2B platforms for highly regulated industries.
