Jonathan Kau

Jonathan Kau is the San Francisco-based Co-Founder and CEO of Satsuma, a blockchain indexing platform that was acquired by Alchemy in September 2023. Prior to establishing the Satsuma platform alongside his co-founder Dan, he served as a product engineer at Y Combinator and worked as a founding engineer at the personal finance application Penny. Kau also gained early-stage data infrastructure experience as an early employee at prominent software companies Airtable and Heap. He initially led Satsuma through the Y Combinator Summer 2021 cohort before successfully exiting to Alchemy, a Web3 developer platform that previously reached a peak valuation of over $10 billion. Following the late-2023 acquisition, his core product was officially merged into Alchemy Subgraphs, where his current professional focus remains heavily centered on developing custom data indexing solutions and scalable Web3 engineering platforms.
