Julien Chaumond is the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Hugging Face, an open-source machine learning platform based in New York City. Alongside co-founders Clément Delangue and Thomas Wolf, he scaled the platform to one million monthly active users and secured a $4.5 billion valuation following a $235 million Series D round backed by Google and Nvidia. Before launching Hugging Face, he was a software engineer at Stupeflix, which was acquired by GoPro, and served as the co-founder and CTO of Glose from 2013 to 2015. He holds degrees in mathematics and computer science from École Polytechnique and a master's degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University, where he was a research assistant. Chaumond currently focuses on expanding open-source artificial intelligence accessibility and advancing humanoid robotics following the company's 2025 acquisition of Pollen Robotics.
