Justin Olshavsky

Justin Olshavsky is a Founding Partner at Pioneer Bio+Health Fund and an active angel investor based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He previously served as the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Voyage Bio, a Y Combinator-backed medical device startup focused on stroke therapeutics that was acquired by Penumbra. Before his entrepreneurial exit, he worked as a robotics engineer at L3Harris and completed engineering studies at the University of California, Berkeley. As an angel investor, Olshavsky has built a personal portfolio of more than ten early-stage startups, typically writing $50,000 checks for pre-seed and seed funding rounds. His notable venture investments include backing life sciences companies such as Kernal Biologics, Known Medicine, and Sixfold Bioscience. His current investment focus centers on allocating capital to early-stage founders developing radical advancements across the biotechnology, healthcare, and frontier technology sectors.
