Karun Kurien

Karun Kurien is the Co-founder and Head of Product and Technology at Alaan, a corporate spend management platform based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this executive capacity, he oversees product development and technical strategy for the B2B SaaS enterprise, which successfully secured a $4.5 million seed funding round in early 2023 to expand its regional operations. Before establishing the Middle Eastern FinTech startup, Kurien spent several years working as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company within its McKinsey Digital practice, advising corporate clients on complex technology implementations. He initially began his professional career working directly as a software engineer before transitioning into broader product management and technology leadership roles across the venture-backed ecosystem. Kurien currently focuses on scaling early-stage financial technology infrastructure by combining his foundational software engineering expertise with his strategic corporate consulting experience.
