Kayla Lee

Kayla Lee is the Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Trace, an artificial intelligence startup developing customer support agents for the financial technology sector. She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science from UC Berkeley, where she led natural language processing research at the Berkeley AI Research Lab under Professor Dan Klein. Prior to her current venture, Lee co-built an AI copilot utilized by surgeons to assist during cardiothoracic procedures at UCSF. At Trace, she has overseen multiple product launches, including specialized AI agents for banks introduced in February 2025, and helped secure the company's seed and Series C funding rounds. Additionally, she is a former national-level athlete who competed in both fencing and lacrosse. Lee currently focuses on scaling enterprise AI applications while leveraging her extensive technical background in natural language processing.
