Lucas Mantovani

Lucas Mantovani is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Velvet, an AI-native enterprise video creation platform based in San Francisco, California. He previously worked on advanced human video generation research as a researcher at Meta FAIR, following his graduation with honors in computer science from the University of Chicago. Before beginning his career in the generative artificial intelligence sector, Mantovani distinguished himself academically as a Brazilian national olympiad winner in both mathematics and physics. In 2025, he launched Velvet alongside co-founder Lucas Tucker through the Y Combinator F25 cohort, and the company subsequently secured $500 million in funding to develop real-time adaptive video asset generation capabilities.
