M. Jaione Maiz

Jaione Maiz is a Principal at Anzu Partners, an investment firm currently managing approximately one billion dollars in strategic assets across multiple venture funds. Before joining the firm in March 2021, she served as Director of Business Development at Zymergen, where she facilitated life science and healthcare partnerships with global Fortune 500 corporations. Previously, she supported the formation of new drug discovery companies and strategic partnerships at Inception Sciences, an incubator operating within the venture fund Versant Ventures. The Kauffman Fellow holds a doctorate in neurobiology from the University of California Los Angeles and a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University. Drawing on additional professional biotechnology experience at Eli Lilly and Company, her current investment focus centers on precision medicine, diagnostics, and next-generation medical interventions at the intersection of life sciences and innovative industrial technology.
