Manolo Atala

Manolo Atala is the Co-founder and CEO of Fairplay, a fintech lending platform based in Mexico City, Mexico. Under his leadership, the 89-employee company has originated over $330 million in loans for small and medium-sized enterprises and secured a $13 million Series A funding round led by Dila Capital in 2021. Before launching Fairplay, Atala served as Partner and Chief Operating Officer at the venture capital firm Mountain Nazca, and held executive positions as Managing Director of Mexico for Cornershop and Regional SVP of North LatAm at Groupon. He also co-founded a fleet management software company and maintains an active portfolio as an angel investor, backing more than 30 early-stage startups across the region. His career centers on scaling technology ventures and deploying high-impact capital across the Latin American e-commerce, SaaS, and fintech sectors.
