Marco Boorsma is a General Partner at Forbion, where he oversees biotechnology investments and serves on the boards of multiple portfolio companies. Before joining the venture capital firm nearly two decades ago, he worked as a Business Development Director at DSM Pharmaceutical Products and earned a PhD in Biotechnology from ETH Zürich. As an investor and executive, he has launched several startups, including serving as the founding CEO of VectorY Therapeutics, and backed companies that were acquired by major pharmaceutical firms. His notable portfolio exits include Dezima Pharma's acquisition by Amgen for up to $1.5 billion, Inversago's sale to Novo Nordisk for up to $1.1 billion, and Inflazome's $450 million acquisition by Roche. Boorsma currently focuses on deploying capital from Forbion's recent €2 billion funds to found and develop biotechnology companies focused on age-related therapeutics.
