Marco Veremis

Marco Veremis is a Partner at Big Pi Ventures and Chairman of Upstream, based in Athens, Greece. At Big Pi Ventures, he manages over €250 million across pre-seed, seed, and growth funds targeting deep technology startups. Previously, he co-founded Upstream in 2002, serving as CEO until 2017 and scaling the business to €230 million in revenue and over 400 employees before Actis acquired a majority stake. Veremis also co-founded the AI marketing firm Persado in 2012 and has backed regional startups including Softomotive, acquired by Microsoft, and Accusonus, acquired by Meta. Before his entrepreneurial career, he worked as a marketing strategist for Omnicom and WPP, and he holds degrees from Warwick University and Oxford University. His current focus centers on funding early-stage technical teams developing hardware, material science, and analytics solutions for global markets.
