Marcus Pratini de Moraes is the Chairman of the Brazilian Beef Export Industries Association and the Conselho Empresarial da América Latina, based in Porto Alegre, Brazil. He previously served in the Brazilian federal government across three decades, holding cabinet positions as the Minister of Industry and Commerce from 1970 to 1974, the Minister of Mines and Energy in 1992, and the Minister of Agriculture from 1999 to 2002. In the private sector, he has held corporate board of director positions at major multinational firms, including JBS SA, Cosan Ltd., and Eldorado Brasil Celulose SA. He earned an economics degree from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul and completed graduate studies in project administration at the Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1966. His career focuses on advancing international trade, agribusiness development, and macroeconomic policy across Latin America.
