Marek Olszewski is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at cLabs, the development company behind the Celo blockchain, based in San Francisco, California. Prior to launching Celo in 2017, he co-founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer of Locu, a machine learning startup that was acquired by GoDaddy for approximately $70 million in 2013. Following the acquisition, Olszewski transitioned to GoDaddy, where he worked as the Vice President of Engineering and led the integration of Locu data processing systems into the parent company product suite. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where his academic research focused on parallel computer systems and deterministic execution. His professional background combines advanced academic research in distributed systems with a current focus on building mobile and open source blockchain infrastructure to expand global financial inclusion.
