Maria Shen

Maria Shen is a General Partner at Electric Capital based in San Francisco, California. Promoted to her current role in June 2023, she focuses on seed and Series A investments across cryptocurrency, blockchain, and fintech, typically writing checks between $1 million and $5 million with a target sweet spot of $2.5 million. Before joining the venture capital firm, Shen worked on search technology at Microsoft, where she shipped features for Windows 10 and Cortana to over one billion global devices. She previously served as the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of the e-commerce supply chain startup Bambify, and she holds an undergraduate degree from Harvard University alongside a master's degree from Cornell University. Shen currently leverages her technical engineering background to identify early-stage Web3 infrastructure projects and lead the publication of Electric Capital's annual blockchain developer report.
