Mariana Costa

Mariana Costa is an Investment Director at EDP Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of Energias de Portugal, based in Lisbon, Portugal. In this role, she manages capital allocation for a fund with over €100 million in assets under management, targeting early-stage startups in the energy transition and cleantech sectors. Prior to joining the venture capital division, Costa began her career in financial advisory at Deloitte, where she analyzed corporate valuations, before transitioning to strategic planning roles within the broader EDP group. She actively collaborates with international accelerators and institutional co-investors to source deal flow, evaluating more than 50 technology companies annually to expand the utility provider's innovation pipeline. Costa holds a degree from the Nova School of Business and Economics, and her current focus remains on scaling disruptive climate technologies that align with global decarbonization mandates.
