Mark Dowds

Mark Dowds is a Managing Director and Venture Partner at Anthemis Group, operating primarily out of his base in Belfast, Northern Ireland. As a serial entrepreneur and active angel investor, he has spent over two decades building and scaling technology companies across the global startup ecosystem. Prior to his current investment role, Dowds co-founded the on-demand insurtech platform Trov, where he helped the firm secure more than $114 million in venture capital funding before the company's technology was acquired by Travelers in 2022. Additionally, he co-founded Creation Ventures and has managed a diverse portfolio of early-stage investments, which includes an early backing of the educational technology platform Brainly alongside several other high-growth enterprises. His current professional focus centers on driving strategic growth for emerging startups and deploying early-stage capital into transformative financial technology ventures across international markets.
