Mark Patterson

Mark Patterson serves as Vice President at BASF Venture Capital, the corporate venture arm of the multinational chemical manufacturing company. In this senior investment role, he works alongside other key executives within the corporate venture unit, including Managing Director Ronald Mercado and fellow Vice Presidents Bernd Gehlen and Claus Dallner. Prior to his current focus on venture investments, Patterson held operational leadership positions within the broader corporate structure, serving as Vice President of Environment, Health and Safety at BASF. During his tenure in that specific operational capacity, he was notably involved in the development of the large-scale Toms River Solar Project on company property in New Jersey in July 2021. Patterson currently focuses on directing corporate venture capital initiatives and strategic investments to support the long-term technological and industrial objectives of the broader BASF enterprise.
