Mark Phillips

Mark Phillips is the Founder and Managing Partner at 11 Tribes Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in the western suburbs of Chicago. In his current capacity, he oversees all aspects of the firm's daily operations, including fundraising, deal sourcing, and direct investment execution. Prior to establishing 11 Tribes Ventures, Phillips began his professional career working as a strategy consultant specializing in mergers and acquisitions before earning his Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Following his graduate studies, he launched his own entrepreneurial venture, and the subsequent failure of this initial startup directly catalyzed his professional transition into the venture capital industry. Today, Phillips focuses on providing early-stage capital alongside comprehensive personal development support to help founders navigate the operational and psychological challenges of building purpose-driven companies.
